Tidying 600 Days to a New Life
Tomorrow, I will witness a truly special "graduation." After 600 days of working together, my client is completing her tidying journey.
Our path together began nearly two years ago. At that time, I was still a trainee, and she was one of my very first clients. Over these 600 days, we didn't just organize a house; we slowly untangled the emotions of many years.
The Weight of Memories and Regret
The biggest challenge for her was her children’s items from when they were small.
Like many parents, she had gone through seasons of life that were incredibly difficult. During those challenging times, she felt she couldn't give her children everything she wanted to. This feeling of "not having done enough" became attached to certain items—expensive educational materials and childhood keepsakes.
For years, these objects sat in her home, feeling heavy. She described them as having a "shadow energy." They weren't just things; they were physical reminders of past regrets.
The Power of the Second Round: Why We Chose to Go Twice
In the KonMari Method™, the process is simple but profound: we hold every single object in our hands and ask if it sparks joy for our life now. It is a process of choosing what to keep, not what to discard.
Usually, this journey is completed in one focused season. However, after talking it through, we decided to go through her entire home twice.
One round simply wasn't enough to process the deep emotions attached to her belongings. It took much longer than we initially expected—600 days in total. But the length of time was a reflection of the profound impact this was having on her life. She needed that time for her heart to catch up with her home.
By the second round, her "tidying muscles" were incredibly strong. Her decision-making was fast and clear because she was no longer just sorting things; she was actively deciding who she wanted to be from now on. When she finally faced those childhood keepsakes again, she was ready. She chose to keep only what truly belonged in her future and let go of the rest with deep gratitude.
Afterward, she said something I will never forget:
"Now that they are gone, I wonder why I held onto them for so long. I feel so much lighter. I wish I had done this sooner!"
In that moment, she realized that by letting go of the physical objects, she was finally allowing herself to be forgiven for the past.
Space for a New Calling
When the physical space cleared, her life began to move in a beautiful new direction.
After more than a decade in her previous career, she decided to follow her heart. This April, she is launching her own path in the wellness and healing industry.
Today, the room that used to feel "heavy" has been transformed into a serene space for her new work. With a professional treatment table and a clear environment, she is finally ready to welcome others and share her gift of healing.
A Message to You

Whether it takes 6 days or 600 days, the most important thing is to start. There is a bright, clear space waiting for you, too.
